In the ongoing major fraud investigation at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse, the mother of the fugitive suspect Erdal Timurtaş spoke out. In the case where approximately 25 kilograms of gold and 50 kilograms of silver went missing, the mother claimed that her son would not have committed this crime alone, stating, "Someone or some people used him."
While the investigation into the major fraud that emerged with the emptying of the cash deposit box at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse continues, the mother of the fugitive suspect Erdal Timurtaş broke her silence. The mother claimed that her son would not commit such a crime alone, making striking allegations.
It was noticed during an inspection that Erdal Timurtaş, who worked as a clerk in the judicial deposit office, had not been coming to work for a long time after taking annual leave, and approximately 25 kilograms of gold and 50 kilograms of silver were missing.
HE REMOVED IT FROM THE COURTHOUSE WITH A SHOPPING CART
It was determined that Timurtaş removed the deposits he filled in black bags from the courthouse with a wheeled cart, and it was revealed that the suspect fled to England with his wife and two children on November 19. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Timurtaş and his wife as part of the investigation, while the judicial deposit officer Kemal Demir was taken into custody.

In the investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the officer in charge, Erdal Timurtaş, fled to England with his family on November 19, 2025, around 08:22. Additionally, it was learned that the suspect Erdal Timurtaş wrote to his friends on the WhatsApp application, "I sold the goods, may Allah give you a market."

Meanwhile, the investigation into the shocking incident is being conducted meticulously by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. According to the information obtained, it was learned that the suspect Erdal Timurtaş worked in a service staff position, did not have the key to the judicial deposit box, and only had the key to the room. Furthermore, it was revealed that another suspect, Kemal Demir, who was taken into custody, had been working as a clerk at the courthouse since 2021 and had the keys to both the judicial deposit box and the judicial deposit room, while Erdal Timurtaş started working in 2022.

The gold that was understood to have been stolen from the judicial deposit was determined to be gold seized during an operation against human smuggling. The total value of the stolen gold and silver was estimated to be approximately 147 million lira.

It was learned that Esma Timurtaş, the wife of Timurtaş, who committed one of the largest thefts in recent years, worked as a paid classroom teacher at an elementary school in Esenyurt, and their two children also attended the same school. It was reported that she told those around her, "We got our visa, we will move to England," while the police began examining all camera recordings around the school.
REQUEST FOR A RED BULLETIN ON THE INDIVIDUAL
While the investigation conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues, individuals with whom the suspect may have established connections during the incident are being investigated one by one. As the investigation deepens, it was learned that a notification was made to the Ministry of Justice to issue a red bulletin for the suspect Erdal Timurtaş, who fled to England, and his wife Esma Timurtaş.

The mother, who said she had not seen her son since the incident, stated that she learned about the developments when the police came to the door.
