23-year-old Ahmet Kaan Kayhan, who was shot dead by his father, a retired police officer, after an argument in Adana, was laid to rest in the Kozan district. It emerged that Kayhan, who worked as a forest worker, went missing while responding to a forest fire in Kozan last year and was found after teams worked for 10 hours. The father, a murder suspect, remains in police custody.

23-year-old Ahmet Kaan Kayhan, who lost his life after being shot with a pistol by his retired police officer father in the Sarıçam district of Adana, was laid to rest.

In the incident that took place on Elif Su Uludağ Street in Gültepe Neighborhood, an argument broke out between father F. Kayhan and his son Ahmet Kaan Kayhan for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated, the young man was shot with a pistol and lost his life.

HIS FUNERAL WAS BURIED IN KOZAN

Following the autopsy at the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute, Ahmet Kaan Kayhan's body was handed over to his family. Kayhan's remains were taken to his hometown of Kozan district and laid to rest after the funeral prayer at the Asri Cemetery.

In addition to his family and relatives, MHP Provincial Vice President Veysel Kokaçya and Kozan Forest Management Director Mahmut Menziletoğlu also attended the funeral.

It was learned that Ahmet Kaan Kayhan, who worked as a forest worker, went missing during the response to a forest fire that broke out in Kozan on August 8, 2025, and was found after teams worked for approximately 10 hours.

FATHER IN CUSTODY

After the incident, retired police officer F. Kayhan surrendered to police and was taken into custody, while it was reported that his procedures at the Homicide Bureau were ongoing.
