In a tragic incident in Edo State, Nigeria, a poisonous soup prepared for revenge led to the deaths of 5 young people.

According to reports, a young woman seeking revenge on her ex-boyfriend added poison to a spicy soup she prepared. Unaware of the situation, the young man shared the soup offered to him with his friends, resulting in the deaths of 5 young people, including 4 males and 1 female.

The incident came to light when family members, suspicious of the young people not leaving their rooms for an extended period, checked on them. It was learned that two of the deceased were siblings, while the other three were their friends.

Images shared on social media show the moments when families found their children lifeless. According to local media reports, the causes of death are being investigated, focusing on generator fumes and food poisoning.

Following the incident, the suspect woman was captured and taken into custody by the Nigerian army. Moses Yamu, spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, stated, "Our investigation into the incident is ongoing. We are working to determine the exact cause of death."
