According to the information obtained, Vera, the 53-year-old mother who had not heard from her daughter, went to her daughter's house. Upon entering the house, the mother found her daughter's lifeless body in the bathroom. The initial examination revealed that Evgenia, who was in the bathtub, was electrocuted after her charging phone fell into the water and died at the scene. Russian authorities announced that seven more people have died in a similar manner in the past year. Among the victims, whose ages ranged from 10 to 26, was the world-famous poker star Liliya Novikova, which drew attention. Yury Agrafonov, the head of the Radio-Electronics Department at Irkutsk State University, stated regarding the issue, "Water is an excellent conductor. The short circuit caused by the charging phone falling into the water led to this tragic incident. If the phone had not been plugged in, such a result would not have occurred." Electronic engineer Andrey Stanovsky warned, "Spending time in the bathroom with a charging phone is like playing Russian roulette. People should be more careful about this." The police, who have launched an investigation into the incident, once again warned citizens not to use electronic devices on wet surfaces to prevent similar cases.
