Famous theologian Necmettin Nursaçan, who lost his wife last year, remarried at the age of 86.

SUPPORT STATEMENT FROM NURSAÇAN'S FAMILY

Nursaçan's children Tahir, Şemsettin, and Mahmut Nursaçan made a joint statement on the matter, stating that they fully support their father's decision. Expressing that the family approves of this marriage, his children emphasized that they stand by their father in this new chapter of his life.

The statement included the following words: "Necmettin Nursaçan is a distinguished opinion leader who has dedicated his life to Islam, knowledge, and social guidance, known for his kindness and elegance. During his tenure in positions such as Deputy President of Religious Affairs and Provincial Mufti of Kayseri, he not only fulfilled his duties but also touched the hearts of thousands, turning pulpits and mosques into educational centers. He is not just a religious official but a scholar who enlightened society with his writings and speeches, conveying Islam's message of tolerance and compassion to generations. He spent every moment of his 86-year life aiming for Allah's pleasure and service to the nation.

"THE COMMON WILL AND DECISION OF US, HIS CHILDREN"

Dear Friends, we are deeply saddened to follow the comments on social media about our father these days that do not reflect the truth. We particularly wish to state that our father's decision to remarry is not his personal choice, but the common will and decision of us, his children, to ensure that this 86-year-old elder spends this delicate period of his life much more peacefully, healthily, and with proper care. As his children, we consider it our duty to meet all of our father's needs; however, we found it appropriate to take this step as a result of consultations in our family council to best provide for his daily care, spiritual peace, and order.

"IT IS A DUTY OF CHILDREN THAT OUR FATHER IS NOT LEFT ALONE"

For us, ensuring our father is not left alone, is cared for under the best conditions, and is at peace is a 'duty of children'. This decision, made with the full knowledge and consent of our family, is a humanitarian measure aimed at our father's well-being. Regarding this legitimate matter, which is in accordance with Allah's command and current laws, it is neither morally nor conscientiously grounded for others to speak. Turning this decision, which we made for the peace of our esteemed father in this period, into gossip and unjust accusations hurts not only us but also the services to which our father has dedicated his years.

Respect for the privacy of a respectable scholar who has spent a lifetime serving the nation, and for the decision we his children have made, is actually a respect for the values of this nation. We would like to remind that every unjust comment made about our family's decision will be accounted for in divine justice. We stand by our father and will continue to fulfill every responsibility that falls on us for his peace."
