Dağıstan and Ayşe Yılmaz, a couple living in Burdur, set an exemplary example by taking the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) together with their two daughters. Saying "there is no age for learning," the family shared the stress and excitement of the exam shoulder to shoulder on the same campus after months of preparation.
An image that warmed the hearts of all Turkey was captured by cameras in Burdur during the YKS exam, where millions of candidates sweat over their university dreams. A mother, father, and their two daughters from the same family came together to the exam venue at Mehmet Akif Ersoy University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences for the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), sharing their excitement.
FATHER YILMAZ: WE CONSULTED EACH OTHER ON WHAT WE DIDN'T KNOW
Father Dağıstan Yılmaz, 47, who works in construction, set an example for everyone with his educational determination in a statement to journalists before the exam. Stating that he dreamed of studying together with his children and first finished high school for this cause, Yılmaz described the process with these words:
"I wanted to prove that there is no age limit for learning. We also wanted to set an example for everyone. During the exam preparation process, we solved questions together. We consulted each other on what we didn't know."
MOTHER AND DAUGHTERS SHARED THE SAME EXCITEMENT
Mother Ayşe Yılmaz, 33, who works as a tailor, expressed her happiness at walking the same path as her children, stating that it was a proud moment for her.
Eylül Rana Yılmaz, 19, who said she waited for a year to take the exam with her family, noted that taking the exam in the same place as her family during the most difficult moments calmed her own excitement and stress.
NATIONAL WRESTLER'S GOAL IS PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING
The story of Mizgin Yılmaz, 17, the youngest member of the family, became another success story. The young athlete, who is also a national wrestler, emphasized that although she found it challenging to balance intensive training programs with exam preparation, she overcame this process with her family's support.
Speaking about her university goals, the young athlete said, "I want to be a good athlete. My goal is to study physical education teaching and wave the Turkish flag in the best way possible."
