Turkey's developing coffee culture is transforming not only consumption habits but also education and entrepreneurship activities in the sector. Coffee professionals and entrepreneurs from different countries around the world are heading to Turkey to learn coffee roasting, receive professional training, and establish their own brands.

Yunus Çakmak, who provides internationally recognized certified coffee training, brings new professionals to the industry with his coffee roasting and barista training, as well as cafe setup and professional coffee consultancy services.

"TÜRKİYE ARTIK SADECE KAHVE TÜKETEN BİR ÜLKE DEĞİL"

Stating that Turkey's position in the international coffee sector is gradually strengthening, Çakmak said that people from different parts of the world coming to Turkey for training is an important development. Çakmak said, "Turkey is now a country that not only consumes coffee but also provides coffee education and brings professionals to the world."

Stating that the trainings are not limited to theoretical knowledge, Çakmak stated that in addition to professional coffee roasting and espresso machines, high-quality coffee beans selected from different regions of the world are also used in the trainings. Çakmak emphasized the importance of not only explaining quality coffee but also allowing participants to experience it with the right equipment, and stated that they continuously invest in equipment, technology, and coffee beans.

"O ÇEKİRDEĞİN FİNCANA GELENE KADAR GEÇİRDİĞİ TÜM SÜRECİ BİLMEK GEREKİYOR"

Stating that they do not approach coffee only through the product in the cup, Çakmak said they visit different coffee geographies of the world to see the regions where coffee is grown and production processes on site. Noting that coffee education does not begin at the roasting machine, Çakmak said, "One needs to know the soil where the coffee grows, the producer, the story of the bean, and all the processes that the bean goes through until it reaches the cup."

Stating that they have visited many coffee production regions so far, Çakmak noted that they transfer the experiences they gained in different geographies to the trainings they provide in Turkey.

Stating that participants, especially in coffee roasting trainings, carry out practical studies, Çakmak said that students get to know the characteristics of different coffee beans, create their own roasting profiles, and roast their own coffee.

Stating that participants continue to work professionally in their own countries after receiving training in Turkey, Çakmak expressed that the trainings turn into an international transfer of knowledge and experience.

Stating that entrepreneurs who want to step into the coffee sector also benefit from training and consultancy services, Çakmak said they provide support to those who want to open a cafe in areas such as brand creation, menu development, equipment and coffee selection, operations, and cafe setup.

Stating that people who receive training establishing their own brands over time is one of the most important success indicators for them, Çakmak said, "For us, a person who receives training from us creating their own brand, roasting their own coffee, and growing by establishing their own team over time is the real success of the training."

Emphasizing that the development in the coffee sector should not be evaluated only by the opening of new cafes, Çakmak stated that Turkey becoming one of the centers of international coffee training carries significant potential.

Stating that people coming to Turkey from different countries of the world carrying the knowledge and experience they gained here to their own countries creates added value for the sector, Çakmak said their goal is to further advance Turkey's education and knowledge accumulation in the field of coffee to international standards.

Çakmak said, "People now come to Turkey not only to drink coffee, but to learn about coffee, roast it, produce it, get to know the source of coffee, and establish their own brands."

Stating that Turkey is not only a consumer in the coffee sector, Çakmak noted that they aim to become more visible on an international scale in education, production, consultancy, and professional training.
