Two women who entered a house in Avcılar stole gold and foreign currency worth approximately 1 million lira, which the homeowner had saved for years for her treatment, and fled within 20 minutes. While the security camera footage shows the moments the suspects entered and left the building, 59-year-old Nazlı Özgür said, 'They emptied all the boxes. I had over 1 million TL in savings and jewelry accumulated over the years. We are waiting for them to be caught.'
Two women entered an apartment in Avcılar and, within approximately 20 minutes, stole jewelry worth about 1 million lira and some cash from the bedroom before disappearing.
The homeowner, Nazlı Özgür, stated that the gold and foreign currency she had saved for years for her treatment were stolen, saying, "They emptied all the boxes. I had savings of over 1 million TL in cash and jewelry. We are waiting for them to be caught."
The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 2, on Hardal Street, Cihangir Neighborhood, Avcılar. According to reports, two women took advantage of 59-year-old Nazlı Özgür's departure from home, entered the apartment building, and went up to the flat. The suspects, who entered the home, took the gold and foreign currency from the drawers in the bedroom within about 20 minutes and left the building.

The suspects' entry and exit moments were captured on security camera. The footage shows the two women entering the building around 2:20 PM, heading directly to the elevator, and leaving the building about 20 minutes later.
It was reported that the suspects went directly to the drawers containing the gold and foreign currency without touching other areas of the apartment. After the incident, police teams examined the home and conducted fingerprint analysis.
"THEY EMPTIED ALL THE BOXES"
Nazlı Özgür, stating that the stolen jewelry had been saved for her treatment expenses, had emotional moments while recounting what happened.
Özgür said, "On Wednesday morning at 6:30, I went to look after my grandchild. I came home around 8 PM. When I entered the house, I felt something strange. The rug had shifted from its place. I was going to change my clothes, but I felt something had changed in the house. At that moment, I remembered the things I had saved. I am retired due to my leg. I needed to see a doctor. I immediately opened the drawer, and all my savings were gone. All the boxes were open. There was nothing anywhere else. They didn't touch the apartment; they only touched the drawers."
Özgür, saying she doesn't know if the suspects had been following her, stated that she asked the building manager for help after the incident and they notified the police, saying, "I went to the manager, and we called the police. They came and took fingerprints. The next day, when the manager came, we reviewed the camera footage one by one. At 2:20 PM, two strangers enter. They go straight to the elevator. There are no cameras on the floors, and they leave 20 minutes later. We asked, but no one in the entire building recognized them."
"WE ARE WAITING FOR THEIR ARREST"
Özgür, explaining that they took the camera footage back to the police, said, "When they saw the videos at the police station, they recognized them immediately. They said, 'These are thieves.' There is over a million in gold and dollars. My husband works abroad, and we are trying to save for my illnesses. They emptied all the boxes. I had savings of over 1 million TL in cash and jewelry. We are waiting for them to be caught."
It was learned that police teams are continuing their investigation into the incident.
