Striking messages came from the mobile phones of 7 suspects captured in Bodrum regarding the arson and shooting incidents in Istanbul. It was stated that the suspects shared information about the hotel where rapper Hakan Aydın, known as Blok3, was staying, the vehicles he used, and his location among themselves, and it was assessed that they were preparing for an attack. The 7 suspects, who claimed they were 'on holiday,' were arrested and sent to prison.
In an investigation conducted by the Robbery Bureau teams regarding an arson incident that occurred about a month ago in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, and a shooting attack in Beylikdüzü, it was determined that both incidents were carried out by the same individuals. Through technical and physical surveillance, it was identified that the suspects had gone to Bodrum.
In a joint operation organized by the Istanbul Police Department and the Muğla Police Department teams, 7 suspects, including two women, were taken into custody. During searches at the addresses where the suspects were staying and on their persons, 4 unlicensed pistols, 6 magazines, and 88 bullets were seized.
'BLOCK' GROUP FOUND ON THEIR PHONES
In examinations conducted by police teams on the suspects' mobile phones, striking findings were obtained. During the reviews, it was found that the suspects had formed a group named "Block" on social media, and there were messages and images assessed as preparations for an attack on rapper Hakan Aydın, known by his stage name Blok3.
It was determined that the suspects shared with each other the hotel where Hakan Aydın was staying, the cars he used, and his location information within the group.
"WE WERE ON VACATION" DEFENSE
The suspects, interrogated at the Istanbul Public Order Branch Directorate, did not accept the accusations against them. It was learned that in their statements, the suspects said, "We were not going to assassinate anyone. We came to Bodrum for a vacation."
7 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
After their procedures at the police station, the 7 suspects were referred to the courthouse and were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison.
