In an inspection carried out at a food production facility in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep, 500 kilograms of meat and liver were found to be stored under conditions not in compliance with storage requirements. The police teams, who determined that the liver roasting production was carried out under inappropriate conditions, destroyed the products, while the facility was sealed and prohibited from operation.
A disgust-inducing food inspection was carried out in Gaziantep. Under the control of Şahinbey Municipality teams, half a ton of meat and liver were destroyed, and the facility's operations were halted.
INSPECTION OF A FACILITY PRODUCING LIVER ROASTS
Şahinbey Municipality inspection teams continued their inspections of food production and sales facilities to protect public health and ensure consumers have access to safe food. In this context, teams inspected a facility producing liver roasts. The inspections revealed that production was carried out in an unsuitable environment. After teams examined the meat and liver at the facility, it was also determined that the storage conditions of the products were inadequate.
A TOTAL OF 500 KILOGRAMS OF MEAT AND LIVER WERE DESTROYED
Following the inspection, 500 kilograms of meat and liver deemed unsuitable for human consumption were destroyed. Thus, the half-ton of products determined to have been stored under unsuitable conditions was prevented from reaching consumers. The inspection did not only involve actions against the products. Sanctions were also applied to the facility, which was deemed to threaten public health.
THE FACILITY WAS SEALED
Following the findings, Şahinbey Municipality teams sealed the said facility and banned it from operation. The municipality stated that inspections of production and storage conditions at facilities in the food sector, which directly concerns human health, will continue. The fact that the amount of products detected during the inspection reached 500 kilograms was one of the striking details of the incident.
