In the comprehensive investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against individuals, environments, and venues deemed to have dragged young people into drug and prostitution settings, a third-wave operation was carried out. In line with the decision issued for 21 suspects, 15 people were detained, while efforts continue to apprehend 6 others. Across the three waves, the number of suspects processed reached 64, and the number of those arrested reached 32.
The button was pressed once again in the comprehensive investigation launched in Ankara targeting drug and prostitution networks. In the third wave of the investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on August 7, 15 suspects were detained.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION FOR 21 SUSPECTS
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau for Investigation of Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes, a simultaneous operation was organized targeting 21 suspects. During the operation, S.K., U.H.A., M.A., O.G.D., R.Ç.B., B.Y., B.D., E.B., E.E., E.A.Y., E.G., M.S., E.Y., E.N.A., and K.Ç. were detained. Efforts continue to apprehend M.D., B.G., S.B.B., M.A.K., M.Ç., and C.S.
DRUG SUBSTANCES FOUND IN HOMES
As part of the operation, searches were also conducted at the addresses. According to the information provided, cannabis and synthetic drugs were found in the home of one suspect, cocaine at the addresses of E.E. and E.G., and red-prescription medications at K.Ç.'s home. Procedures regarding the detained suspects are ongoing.
INVESTIGATION STARTED ON AUGUST 7
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation into individuals and venues deemed to have dragged young people into drug and prostitution environments began on August 7, 2026. In the first wave, procedures were carried out against 14 suspects. 11 suspects were arrested, judicial control measures were imposed on one person, and two suspects began to be sought as fugitives. In the examinations conducted by the Forensic Medicine Institute, drug substances were detected in 8 suspects from the first wave. The analyses found evidence of cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis, and synthetic cannabinoids.
VENUES ALSO SCRUTINIZED IN THE SECOND WAVE
In the second wave of the investigation on August 16, the scope expanded. In addition to the suspects, the operators and related parties of some entertainment and food and beverage venues, whose connections to drug and prostitution activities were being investigated, were also included in the investigation. As a result of the second wave, 21 suspects were arrested, judicial control measures were imposed on 6 suspects, and 2 individuals began to be sought as fugitives. Following the analysis of biological samples taken in this wave, drug substances were detected in 10 suspects.
64 SUSPECTS REACHED
With the third wave, the scope of the investigation grew. Since August 7, procedures have been carried out against a total of 64 suspects. Accordingly, 32 suspects have been arrested, judicial control measures have been imposed on 7 individuals, and 15 people were detained in the third wave. Efforts continue to apprehend a total of 10 fugitives. The investigation covers not only individuals found to have used drugs but also the connections of people, circles, and venues deemed to have dragged young people into drug and prostitution environments or enabled the creation of such environments. It is expected that the investigation will expand and new operations will be carried out in light of new evidence.
