In the investigation concerning individuals and venues assessed to have dragged young people into drug and prostitution environments in Ankara, a third wave operation was carried out. While 15 suspects were detained in the operation, the number of suspects subjected to judicial proceedings in the investigation conducted since August 7 has risen to 64.
Within the scope of the drug and prostitution investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a third wave operation was carried out. While 15 suspects were detained in the operation, it was reported that efforts continue to capture 6 suspects.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION FOR 21 SUSPECTS
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau for Investigation of Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes, a simultaneous operation was organized targeting 21 suspects.
In the operation, S.K., U.H.A., M.A., O.G.D., R.Ç.B., B.Y., B.D., E.B., E.E., E.A.Y., E.G., M.S., E.Y., E.N.A., and K.Ç. were detained.
In searches conducted at the addresses, various amounts of narcotics were seized. Cannabis and synthetic drugs were found at Ç.B.'s home, cocaine at the addresses of E.E. and E.G., and red-prescription medication at K.Ç.'s home.
64 SUSPECTS REACHED IN INVESTIGATION
The investigation into drug and prostitution connections in the capital was initiated on August 7 regarding 14 suspects.
Based on the statements, digital materials, biological examinations, and other evidence obtained in the first two waves, the investigation was expanded.
With today's third wave operation, the number of suspects processed within the scope of the investigation rose to 64. During this process, it was reported that 32 suspects were arrested, judicial control measures were imposed on 7 suspects, and efforts continue to capture 10 fugitives.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the investigation is not only directed at individuals who use drugs but is being conducted comprehensively to uncover the individuals, environments, and connections that direct young people to such settings.
It was stated that new operations may continue within the scope of the investigation in line with new evidence.
