Çatalan Dam, which meets Adana's drinking water needs, reached 100 percent capacity this year following effective rainfall. Citizens noted that the dam had not reached this level in many years and expressed satisfaction with the current situation.
The rains that have been effective in the city in recent months have positively reflected on the water level in the dams. Citizens were especially happy that the Çatalan Dam, which had dropped to critical levels in previous years due to drought, is now completely full. Citizens in the Karayusuflu Neighborhood around the dam stated that they have seen such a high occupancy rate for the first time in years.
HIGHEST RAINFALL IN THE LAST 60 YEARS
Harun Durhasan, one of the citizens, stated that this year's rainfall has been quite abundant, saying, "This year we have 100 percent occupancy. We haven't had water for 6 years. The dam had dropped to 30 percent, but now it has reached full occupancy. This year there was super rainfall. It was the highest rainfall in 60 years. We have never seen such a thing in our lives. But this year it was very good."
"OCCUPANCY RATE IS VERY GOOD"
Süleyman Çelik stated that the occupancy rate in the dam is pleasing, saying, "The occupancy rate is very good right now. The occupancy rate has almost exceeded 100 percent. The rain came with abundance. There was drought and there wasn't much rainfall."
