WINTER SCENERY FORMED ON KOP MOUNTAIN
Snowfall was effective on Kop Mountain, one of Bayburt's important transit routes. As the end of May approaches, the snow created winter landscapes again at higher elevations. In the city center, it was reported that the rain that started in the morning hours continued intermittently.
"SUMMER WON'T COME TO BAYBURT THIS YEAR"
Truck driver Yıldıray Ata, who uses the Kop Mountain route, said that winter conditions continue in the region. Ata stated, "May 18, 2026, it's snowing on Kop Mountain. There's a nice snowfall, it's coming down well. Summer won't come to Bayburt this year, there is no summer for our region this year."
HEAVY RAIN WARNING FROM METEOROLOGY
The General Directorate of Meteorology also issued a heavy rain warning for the northern regions, including Bayburt. In the statement, it was reported that locally heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected in the inner parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea region starting from the morning hours of Monday, May 18.
