A bee entered a taxi traveling on the Bandırma-Susurluk highway, causing a terrible tragedy. The taxi driver, panicking due to the bee, lost control of the wheel, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided head-on with another car. In the accident, where chaos unfolded, 1 person died and 4 others were injured.
A traffic accident in Balıkesir's Bandırma district poignantly revealed how a moment of panic can lead to an irreversible disaster.
BEE PANIC CAUSES TRAGEDY
According to the information obtained, the incident began when the driver of a commercial taxi with license plate 10 T 2151, traveling towards Bandırma, panicked due to a bee that entered the vehicle through an open window. Allegedly, while trying to get rid of the bee, the driver experienced a brief moment of panic and completely lost control of the steering wheel.
CROSSED INTO ONCOMING LANE AND COLLIDED HEAD-ON
The out-of-control commercial taxi quickly veered into the opposite lane and violently collided head-on with a car bearing license plate 16 HJ 184, which was traveling in its own lane at that moment. Both vehicles were wrecked into scrap metal from the impact, turning the scene into what resembled a battlefield. Following the accident, which was witnessed in horror by nearby drivers, numerous health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area.
DIED AT THE SCENE
Health teams arriving at the scene within a short time provided first aid to the injured individuals trapped in the vehicles. During the checks, it was determined that a citizen named E.Ş. lost their life at the scene. The injured, S.K., K.I., M.F., and F.I., were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances for treatment. E.Ş.'s lifeless body was taken to the morgue after detailed examinations.
TAXI DRIVER SENTENCED TO HOUSE ARREST
Following the accident, traffic in the area was temporarily controlled by gendarmerie teams through a single lane. Traffic returned to normal after the scene investigation teams completed their work and the wrecked vehicles were removed from the road.
Meanwhile, it was learned that the taxi driver, who caused a fatal accident by losing control of the steering wheel under the pretext of a bee, was sentenced to house arrest by the court after legal proceedings. A comprehensive investigation into the accident by gendarmerie teams is ongoing.
