In Sivas, 47-year-old Sevgi Ayan Gören and her son Mehmet Eren Gören, who took the YKS, experienced exam excitement in the same building and in adjacent classrooms. While the mother and son, who prepared together, supported each other before the exam, the resulting images were both heartwarming and smile-inducing.

Today, the excitement of the YKS is being experienced throughout the country. While approximately 15,000 students in Sivas are feeling this excitement, Sevgi Ayan Gören (47), a housewife who applied for the exam, and her son Mehmet Eren Gören (18) coincidentally took the exam in the same building. The mother and son, who were to take the exam at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Education, arrived at the building early in the morning. While the mother stated that although there is a friendly competition between them, her son's goals are bigger, Mehmet Eren noted that he dreams of studying computer engineering.

"WE ARE TAKING THE EXAM IN ADJACENT CLASSROOMS WITH MY SON"

Sevgi Ayan Gören stated that preparing at the same table with her son and taking the exam in adjacent classrooms will remain a beautiful memory for them, saying, "We are taking the exam in adjacent classrooms with my son. He studied hard, I did not. I am not very ambitious. I will choose a department from the open education faculty. I will study it as my third university. However, we are hopeful about my son. We prepared for the exam together. Our study desk was shared. He is a numerical student, I am a verbal student. Sometimes he became the teacher, and I was his student. He explained to me, but I don't understand numerical subjects. I wish success to all students, including my own son. This exam has been a good experience for us, a different experience. It will remain a beautiful memory for us. I cannot compete with him; there is also a friendly competition between us."

"WE ALWAYS SUPPORTED EACH OTHER WITH MY MOM"

Mehmet Eren Gören, stating that taking the exam in adjacent classrooms with his mother made him feel good, said, "It is a very strange and odd feeling. Being in the same hall with my mom taking the exam feels nice. We prepared for the exam together. We always supported each other with my mom. I want to get into computer engineering."
