Controlled water discharge was carried out at the Karakaya Dam in Diyarbakır's Çüngüş district, as the water level rose due to the rainy season. The magnificent view created by opening three spillways was recorded by citizens on their mobile phones. Authorities warned the public about the increased water flow.
The discharge process has been initiated at the Karakaya Dam, located on the Euphrates River at the borders of Diyarbakır, Malatya, and Elazığ, due to an increase in the amount of water coming from the Keban Dam Lake.
THREE GATES OPENED
As the water level in the dam lake rose, three gates of the Karakaya Dam were opened, releasing water in a controlled manner. The images that emerged during the discharge attracted attention.
CITIZENS CAPTURED WITH MOBILE PHONES
The scenery created by the water released from the dam was recorded by citizens in the vicinity using their mobile phone cameras.
Authorities warned citizens to be cautious due to the increased water flow.
