Turkish Airlines Press Advisor Yahya Üstün made a statement regarding an incident where a passenger insulted and threatened the cabin crew before the Istanbul-London flight. Üstün stated, "Legal proceedings have been initiated against the passenger named B.G. and he has been added to the list of unauthorized passengers (blacklist)." Istanbul Governor Davut Gül shared the moments when the disruptive passenger was detained, saying "The expected outcome."

Turkish Airlines (THY) Press Advisor Yahya Üstün announced that legal proceedings have been initiated against the passenger who insulted the cabin crew before the Istanbul-London flight yesterday.

INFURIATED THE CABIN CREW

A passenger before Turkish Airlines' Istanbul-London flight created a pre-flight crisis by arguing with the cabin crew, claiming that his seat had been changed. The passenger, who displayed aggressive behavior by hitting the walls of the plane and infuriating the cabin crew and passengers, claimed that he was first moved from seat 8 to seat 17, and then from seat 17 to seat 8. Then, when his passport was damaged as he threw his belongings onto the seat, the passenger became angry and started swearing.

"WE ARE TURKISH, TURKISH POWER"

The passenger not only showed aggressive behavior towards male cabin crew members but also towards female cabin crew members, shouting "We are Turkish, Turkish Power." Then, looking at the female cabin crew member, he said, "Be a man like this, bro." The angry passenger approached the male cabin crew member and said, "Hit me and let's see." When the crew member did not respond, the passenger started hitting the walls of the plane again upon hearing that security personnel were called. In the footage, it was seen that the angry passenger told the security personnel, "You can't hold me, I have 10 factories, don't talk nonsense."

THY PRESS ADVISOR YAHYA ÜSTÜN MADE A STATEMENT

Turkish Airlines Press Advisor Yahya Üstün announced that legal proceedings have been initiated and the passenger has been blacklisted. Üstün made the following statement on his social media account:

The passenger, who displayed aggressive behavior and verbal insults towards the cabin crew and passengers on the TK1983 Istanbul-London flight on 14.09.2024, was removed from the plane with the police. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the passenger named B.G., who caused material damage to our aircraft, and he has been added to the list of unruly passengers (blacklist).
