Turkey is participating in the ZEPS Fair, one of the most important general trade fairs in the Balkans, which opened its doors to visitors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 35 companies including TOGG. This year, Turkey is participating as the "Partner Country" in the fair held in the city of Zenica, which is expected to attract 1.5 million visitors, through the organization of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). Turkish brands, including TOGG, will introduce their new products to Balkan and European countries at ZEPS, the largest international fair in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which opened today. Companies from Adana, Bursa, Gaziantep, Izmir, Kayseri, Samsun, and Uşak, especially from Istanbul, participated in the Turkish national participation of the fair, which is being held for the 30th time this year.

35 Turkish companies, including packaging, lighting, information technology, education, electrical appliances, food, ready-to-wear, construction, stationery, furniture, industry, aerospace companies, and the global automotive and mobility brand TOGG, presented their innovative products to the visitors at the fair.

NEW MARKETS TARGETED WITH ZEPS FAIR

ITO President Şekib Avdagiç stated that they believe the ZEPS Fair will contribute to Turkey's foreign trade. Avdagiç noted that leading companies from various sectors are showcasing the country's quality and rich product variety at the Turkish national stand, saying, "Most importantly, we brought Turkey's national automotive brand TOGG to Bosnia and Herzegovina with the ZEPS Fair. 560 years ago, we came to these lands with the noble horses of Anatolia, and now we are here with TOGG, the local brand of Anatolia." Avdagiç emphasized that by participating in the ZEPS Fair, they are developing new markets and collaborations while also strengthening the friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.

THE TARGET IN TURKEY-BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA TRADE IS 1 BILLION DOLLARS

Avdagiç stated that they have organized the Turkish Products Fair in Bosnia and Herzegovina six times as the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and that they aim to keep the economic and commercial relations between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina always alive. He also reminded that they participated in the most recent Halal Fair held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Avdagiç expressed his belief that the investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which have reached 300 million dollars so far, will rapidly increase, saying, "I trust that the obstacles on this path will be resolved with the goodwill approaches of the Bosnian government and officials." He pointed out that the two countries have the potential to elevate their current trade to higher levels, stating, "In 2023, we exported 716 million dollars to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our imports reached 200 billion dollars. Looking at the first 7 months of this year, our imports were 179 million dollars, and our exports were 479 million dollars." Avdagiç noted that the updated Free Trade Agreement, which came into force on August 1, 2021, has been a driving force in this regard, stating, "We have not yet exceeded the threshold of 1 billion dollars in our foreign trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our expectation is to reach this target in 2024."

NEW COLLABORATIONS ARE TARGETED

Avdagiç made the following evaluations: "We believe that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an important stop and base that will accelerate the journey of products produced by Turks and this geography towards the West. Therefore, we always aim to keep Bosnia and Herzegovina's commercial presence vibrant. We are trying to do this with the ZEPS Fair. Our most important expectation from the ZEPS Fair is to further develop the cooperation between Turkish companies and Bosnian companies, and to initiate new investments and projects. Additionally, this fair will be an accelerating force for the commercial and economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey. We believe that this fair will demonstrate that the seed of revival mentioned in the words of Bosnia and Herzegovina's first President Aliya Izzetbegović, 'They buried us in the ground, but they did not know we were seeds,' is trade."

The fair will end on October 5.
