RESPONSE TO CRITICISMS THAT "IT CANNOT BE SOLD AT THIS PRICE"
Selahattin Yapalı, who became a trending topic for selling lahmacun for 50 TL in Sivas, was inspected by the Provincial Trade Directorate following complaints about the low price. The inspections found no irregularities, and Yapalı decided to continue his campaign.
"I MAKE 15% PROFIT"
Stating that he is not selling lahmacun at a loss, Yapalı detailed the cost calculation, saying, "In Sivas, meat costs 800 TL per kilo, onions 20 TL per kilo, tomatoes 30 TL. I sell lahmacun with a 15% profit margin. The property of the workplace belongs to me. I earn little but I earn. If there were no profit, we could not sell at this price."

Noting that he has been running the same campaign for about three years and has seen great interest, Yapalı said, "As long as our strength allows and our earnings suffice, we will continue to sell lahmacun for 50 TL."
