In the Bodrum district of Muğla, 20-year-old Mert Özcan, who was severely injured when an 8-meter inflatable boat, whose gas lever got stuck during cleaning, crashed into the dock and exploded, died in the hospital.
A young man was seriously injured when an 8-meter inflatable boat, whose throttle got stuck during work, crashed into a dock and exploded in the Bodrum district of Muğla. He lost his life at the hospital where he was taken.
The incident occurred around noon on July 8 in the Yalıkavak Marina area of the Bodrum district.
INFLATABLE BOAT WITH STUCK THROTTLE CRASHES INTO DOCK
According to information obtained, while cleaning was being done on an 8-meter auxiliary inflatable boat belonging to a motor yacht, the throttle became stuck. The inflatable boat, suddenly lurching forward, crashed into the dock and exploded. During the explosion, 20-year-old Mert Özcan, who was on the boat, was seriously injured.
HEARTBREAKING NEWS OF THE 20-YEAR-OLD YOUTH
Nearby citizens reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the call, health and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area. Health teams arriving at the scene shortly after provided first aid and then transported the injured young man by ambulance to Acıbadem Hospital.
The young man, who suffered burns on his body, lost his life despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken in serious condition.
