Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made critical statements during a live broadcast on CNN Türk. Speaking about the platforms Roblox and Discord, which have been blocked from access in Turkey for some time, Uraloğlu said, "They are not exactly social media platforms. We don't want to block useful games that a child should play, but it will be more about social media usage."

WILL ROBLOX BE UNBLOCKED?

The minister stated that discussions with the representatives of the two platforms are ongoing, saying, "So, children will not be able to open an account there. For example, in some countries, parental permission is required, but we are not considering that much. We want our children under 16 not to access social media. There was no representative of the gaming platform in Turkey; they contacted us as a result of the sanctions we imposed through court decisions."

Uraloğlu also signaled that the platforms could be unblocked, stating, "If there are useful contents on a platform, they can eliminate the harmful ones, and we can continue with the beneficial ones. There is a traffic of discussions ongoing, and if we reach the right point in that sense, it may be possible for them to be reopened as a result of the legal process."
