TRAVEL WARNING FROM THE UNITED STATES TO ITS CITIZENS
The U.S. Department of State emphasized that U.S. citizens in the region should closely monitor security conditions in its travel warning issued due to rising tensions in the Middle East and North Africa.
"UNEXPECTED DEVELOPMENTS MAY OCCUR"
The Department reminded that the current tensions in the region have led to travel disruptions and security threats for U.S. citizens during similar crisis periods in the past, noting that unexpected developments may occur depending on local conditions during such times.
"WE ARE IN CONTACT WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES"
The Department recommended that citizens abroad register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to be more easily reachable in potential emergencies. The U.S. administration announced that it continues to closely monitor developments in the region and is in contact with local authorities for the safety of its citizens.
