IRAN'S RESPONSE WAS PROMPT The response to Trump's threat came from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Tasnim News Agency published a written statement made by the Revolutionary Guards. The statement included, "In light of previous warnings, if there is an attack by the enemy on Iran's fuel and energy infrastructure, all energy, information technology, and freshwater purification infrastructures belonging to the US and the Zionist regime in the region will be targeted."
"THE FEE FOR PASSING THROUGH THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ IS 2 MILLION DOLLARS" Alaaddin Boroujerdi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, stated that his country has introduced a new understanding of sovereignty in the Strait of Hormuz after 47 years, noting that they charge a passage fee of 2 million dollars from some ships passing through the strait. Boroujerdi argued that charging fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz demonstrates Iran's power.
