U.S. President Donald Trump described Russia's "stopping the war and not taking over all of Ukraine" as a "big concession" on the path to a peace agreement. Touching on the issue of the Crimea dispute, Trump stated, "The U.S. gave up Crimea years ago during President Obama's administration."
US President Donald Trump evaluated the Russia-Ukraine War during his meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in the Oval Office.
"I AM NOT HAPPY WITH RUSSIA'S ATTACKS ON KYIV"
Trump clearly expressed that he is not pleased with Russia's recent attacks on Kyiv and stated that it is bad for these attacks to occur right in the middle of peace negotiations. Commenting on Russia's attacks on Kyiv, Trump said, "I am not happy about this; missiles were fired right in the middle of peace negotiations, and I am not happy about that." He emphasized that they are putting "very serious pressure" on Russia to stop these attacks and move towards a peace agreement.

In response to a question, "What concessions has Russia made so far to get closer to peace?" Trump said, "Stopping the war and giving up on taking over the entire country are quite significant concessions." He expressed his belief that both sides would agree to the deal and hoped for the war to end soon and for the agreement to be signed.

Touching on the Crimea dispute between Russia and Ukraine, Trump blamed former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden for this issue. Trump stated, "The US gave up Crimea years ago during President Obama's term; this was a big event. This is not my war; this is Biden's war. I am just trying to put out the fire."

US President Trump made a statement today on his social media platform Truth Social regarding the attack on Kyiv. Expressing his dissatisfaction with Russia's attacks on Kyiv, Trump said, "Vladimir, stop! 5,000 soldiers are dying every week," calling for the signing of a peace agreement.
