EMPHASIZED HIS DETERMINATION ON CEASEFIRE
Trump, who said, "I think we are close to an agreement in Gaza," emphasized his determination regarding the ceasefire in Gaza as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was flying to Washington.
"MANY OF THE REMAINING HOSTAGES WILL BE RELEASED"
The US President stated in his remarks that a ceasefire in Gaza could be possible "within this week": "I think there is a good chance we will reach an agreement with Hamas regarding many of the hostages next week. You know, we have rescued most of the hostages, but many of the remaining hostages will be released. We believe we will do this this week."
WILL MEET WITH NETANYAHU TODAY
Trump said in a statement to reporters on Friday, "We believe a ceasefire will be achieved in Gaza within the next week." On the same day, Hamas conveyed its "positive" response to the last ceasefire proposal to Qatari and Egyptian mediators.
Trump is expected to meet with Netanyahu, with whom he has been pressuring for a ceasefire in Gaza, today at 6:00 PM local US time at the White House.
