US billionaire Elon Musk donated at least $276 million to the Republican Party for the congressional midterm elections to be held on November 3. Musk thus became the Republicans' largest donor during the midterm election process.
Elon Musk, one of US President Donald Trump's biggest political supporters, donated millions of dollars to support Republican candidates. It was reported that Musk has spent at least $276 million on the midterm elections since July. With the amount of his donations, Musk became the Republican Party's largest known donor ahead of the November 3 elections.
$158 MILLION OF THE DONATION GOES TO SENATE ELECTIONS
It was stated that $158 million of Musk's donations was transferred to the Senate Leadership Fund, which supports Republican Senate candidates. It was also recorded that Musk donated $76 million through his own political action committee, America PAC.
These donations drew attention in an election process in which Republicans aim to preserve their majorities in Congress. In the US midterm elections to be held on November 3, elections will be held for all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate.
HE ALSO SUPPORTED TRUMP IN THE 2024 ELECTIONS
Elon Musk had donated approximately $288 million to the campaigns of Donald Trump and other Republican candidates in the 2024 presidential election. This support had made Musk one of the largest political donors of the election period.
Musk had previously stated that he was considering reducing his political spending. However, ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, he again began supporting Republicans with high-dollar donations.
