ANNOUNCED AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF
In his speech, Trump said: "As Commander in Chief, it is a great honor for me to announce the construction of the two largest new warships we have ever built for the Navy. The firepower of these ships will be 100 times greater."
The President emphasized that this step would enhance the deterrent capacity of the U.S. navy and play a significant role in protecting strategic sea routes.
Trump noted that some of the current warships have become old and unusable, stating: "As you know, we need ships very much. Some of our ships are old, worn out, and have become unusable. These state-of-the-art ships will be some of the deadliest surface warships outside of our submarines. They will be 100 times more powerful than any warship ever built."
FINAL GOAL 25 NEW SHIPS
Trump announced that the navy will immediately begin the construction of two new ships, and that this number will increase to 10 in the future, ultimately reaching a total of 20-25 ships.
STEP TO EXPAND NAVAL POWER
This announcement shows that the Trump administration has made shipbuilding a priority issue at the White House level and has established a special office to oversee maritime industry policy. The aim is to expand U.S. naval power and accelerate modernization.
