Trump stated, "We had productive discussions with Iran, and I have ordered a 5-day halt to attacks on energy facilities."
While the conflicts that began with the attacks of the USA and Israel on Iran continue on their 24th day, US President Donald Trump has stepped back from the threat regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
HE HAD GIVEN 48 HOURS
In a statement he made yesterday, Trump said, "If Iran does not completely open the Strait of Hormuz without any threat within the next 48 hours, the US will strike and destroy various energy facilities in Iran, starting with the largest."

The Tehran administration responded promptly to these statements. The Iranian Defense Council announced that a "devastating" response would be given to possible attacks regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement published by the council, it was noted that any attempt to attack Iranian shores or islands would result in the closure of all transit points in the Persian Gulf with naval mines. The statement emphasized that in this scenario, not only the Strait of Hormuz but the entire Persian Gulf could effectively be closed to navigation.
Iran pointed out that even a limited number of naval mines could not be cleared in the 1980s, highlighting that a potential mining situation would have long-lasting effects.
The statement expressed that the passage of non-combatant countries through the Strait of Hormuz would only be possible in coordination with Iran. The Iranian administration announced that all forces across the country would act in accordance with the leadership order and that they were ready to resist.
TRUMP STEPPED BACK HOURS LATER
Following these developments, Trump stepped back from his threat, stating, "I would like to inform you that the United States and Iran have had very good and constructive discussions in the last 2 days to fully and comprehensively resolve our hostilities in the Middle East. In line with the content and style of these deep, detailed, and constructive discussions – which will continue throughout the week – I have instructed the Department of Defense to postpone any military attack on Iran's energy facilities and energy infrastructure for 5 days, provided that the ongoing meetings and discussions are successful."
