According to TÜİK, the number of unemployed decreased by 84,000 in November compared to the previous month, reaching 3 million 72 thousand. The unemployment rate in Turkey fell by 0.1 percentage points in November 2024 compared to the previous month, standing at 8.6%.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) published the labor force data for November 2024. Accordingly, the number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and over decreased by 84,000 compared to the previous month, reaching 3 million 72 thousand. The unemployment rate decreased by 0.1 points, standing at 8.6 percent. The unemployment rate is estimated to be 7.0 percent for men and 11.7 percent for women.
THE NUMBER OF EMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS DECREASED
The number of employed individuals decreased by 168,000 in November 2024 compared to the previous month, reaching 32 million 748 thousand, while the employment rate decreased by 0.2 points to 49.6 percent. This rate was 67.1 percent for men and 32.4 percent for women.
The labor force decreased by 252,000 in November 2024 compared to the previous month, reaching 35 million 820 thousand, while the labor force participation rate decreased by 0.4 points to 54.2 percent. The labor force participation rate was 72.1 percent for men and 36.7 percent for women.
