Birsen Orhan, the co-mayor of Tunceli who was removed from office on November 22 and arrested on November 30, has been released. The appeal against the arrest decision made by Orhan's lawyers was accepted by the court.

The co-chair of Tunceli Municipality, Birsen Orhan, who was placed under guardianship and put under house arrest, was arrested on November 30. According to the latest reports, Birsen Orhan has been released.

SHE ANNOUNCED IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA

After the decision to appoint a trustee to Tunceli Municipality was made, Birsen Orhan, who was first detained, was later released under house arrest conditions on November 24. Birsen Orhan was detained in the Pertek district of Tunceli and announced this decision on her social media account as follows: "I am being detained. By Pertek police."

Birsen Orhan was arrested on charges of 'violating the law on meetings and demonstrations' and 'resisting to prevent the execution of duty.' The Ministry of Interior had removed Tunceli Municipality co-chairs Cevdet Konak and Birsen Orhan from their positions on November 22.

LAWYERS APPEALED, SHE WAS RELEASED

The appeal made by Birsen Orhan's lawyers against the arrest decision was accepted by the court. Following the appeal against the detention order, Birsen Orhan was released. It is expected that Birsen Orhan will go to the DEM Party Tunceli Provincial Organization.
