Turkey achieved its highest-ever October exports to Germany, amounting to 1.6 billion dollars. With a history of close relations, Germany is Turkey's most important trading partner. Despite concerns about global economic activities and the difficult days faced by the European economy, demand for Turkish products from Germany continues.
Although there have been slowdowns in exports to Germany recently due to the effects of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War, improvements in trade are observed with the continuation of close relations between the two countries.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated during his visit to Turkey last month that they wanted to restart intergovernmental negotiations with Turkey, saying, "In this way, many bilateral structures related to foreign policy or cooperation in the defense industry have been revitalized. Germany is also making efforts to develop relations between the EU and Turkey at the European Union (EU) level."
