Mevlut Cavusoglu marks enthronement of new Emperor Naruhito.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu congratulated the new Emperor of Japan on Tuesday.

"I would like to congratulate Japan's 126th Emperor, His Majesty Naruhito, on the occasion of his ascension to the throne," Cavusoglu said in a tweet.

Japanese Emperor Naruhito acceded the Chrysanthemum Throne on May 1, after his father and former Emperor Akihito abdicated a day earlier. He was officially enthroned on Tuesday in an ancient-style ceremony.

Naruhito's period will be called "Reiwa," or "the harmony of order". -
