According to the Ministry of Trade's 'E-Commerce Outlook in Turkey 2025' report, chicken döner, which has topped order lists for years, has lost its leading position. E-commerce data has revealed citizens' new favorites in the kitchen.

According to the compilation from the 'Outlook of E-Commerce in Turkey Report 2025,' where the Ministry of Commerce covers developments in e-commerce, the developments in the e-commerce ecosystem are increasing consumers' expectations regarding speed, accessibility, flexibility, and product diversity day by day.

In this context, quick commerce, where delivery is usually carried out by motorcycle couriers, stands out as one of the frequently preferred e-commerce models by delivering ordered products to consumers in a very short time. This area shows strong growth, especially in the food, supermarket, and meal sectors, through dark stores (small warehouse-like centers where only online orders are prepared and dispatched), local collaborations, and advanced logistics infrastructure.

QUICK COMMERCE'S SHARE IN E-COMMERCE REACHED 8.5 PERCENT

Accordingly, as of 2025, the volume of quick commerce, covering instant and scheduled deliveries, reached 388.7 billion lira, an increase of 55.6 percent compared to the previous year. The annual compound growth rate of the volume between 2019 and 2025 was 138.7 percent. The share of this trade in e-commerce volume rose from 1.6 percent in 2019 to 8.5 percent last year.

MEAL SECTOR STOOD OUT IN QUICK COMMERCE WITH A 69.5 PERCENT SHARE

The meal sector, along with the food and supermarket sectors, constituted the majority of this trade volume. Accordingly, while the meal sector stood out in quick commerce with a 69.5 percent share last year, the volume of food and supermarket was realized at 30.5 percent.

This was followed by cleaning and home care products at 3.96 billion lira, and poultry, chicken, and turkey products at 3.46 billion lira. Meatballs and processed meat at 3.43 billion lira, milk at 3.01 billion lira, and bottled water at 2.88 billion lira were other products consumers purchased most frequently in quick commerce.

TURKEY'S NEW FAVORITE BECAME HAMBURGER
