The opening of the new Presidential and Republic Assembly complex in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has caused discomfort in the Greek press. The Greek newspaper Kathimerini, which used scandalous expressions, referred to Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots as occupiers.

During the opening of the new Presidential and Parliament complex, President Erdoğan stated, "Those who try to disrupt our brotherhood, create divisions among us, and sow seeds of hatred in these fertile lands instead of peace and tranquility will not succeed. I sincerely believe that this complex will host decisions that will take the Turkish Cypriots further. I thank each of you for your love and loyalty. I want you to know that Turkey will always be by your side whenever you need it, just as it was yesterday, today, and will be tomorrow," delivering important messages.
