06.04.2022 18:12

Anadolu Agency will continue to make difference with its reliable, truth based journalism, says Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Turkish president on Wednesday celebrated the 102nd anniversary of Anadolu Agency, a trusted and respected global news outlet.

"I believe that Anadolu Agency will continue to make a difference with its reliable, truth-based journalism at the present time, when the importance of accurate news is felt more for the whole world," said Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Erdogan also commemorated those who contributed to the establishment and development of Anadolu Agency, especially Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, also wishing success to all current members of the institution.

Turkish Cypriot President Ersin Tatar also marked Anadolu Agency's 102nd birthday.

Tatar said Anadolu Agency, which started reporting news by making the voice of Turkiye heard to the world during the War of Independence, is a global agency that has a voice on the world stage at the age of 102.

"I congratulate the anniversary of Anadolu Agency, one of the pioneers of telling the truth of the TRNC (The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) to the world, and wish it continued success," he added.

Turkish Communications Directorate head Fahrettin Altun said: "We are proud that our national agency has been a reliable news source at the national and international level from the past until today."

Altun underlined that Anadolu Agency, one of the leading institutions in the communication mobilization initiated by Erdogan, will continue to be the voice of Turkiye.

"On this occasion, I would like to commemorate with gratitude all the founders of the agency, from Halide Edip to Yunus Nadi, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk," he added, using an honorific marking of Ataturk's status as a distinguished veteran. -
