In CHP, Mersin Mezitli Mayor Ahmet Serkan Tuncer and Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, who was suspended from duty, were referred to disciplinary proceedings with a request for expulsion. Kılıçdaroğlu had previously said in a statement, 'We will cleanse the pollution and engage in clean politics.'
The Central Executive Board (MYK) of the CHP convened again today at 14:30. Following the meeting, the new names that were expelled were announced.
CHP Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı explained the decisions taken after stating, "In our Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting dated June 12, 2026, we conducted comprehensive evaluations regarding the country's agenda and recent developments in our party."
"In line with the ordinary congress decision taken at the Party Assembly meeting held yesterday, it was decided to prepare the congress calendar and make assignments related to the execution of the process.
It was decided to refer Mersin Mezitli Mayor Serkan Tuncer and Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for their definitive expulsion under precautionary measures."
