While it was claimed that the hospital records of Gülistan Doku, who went missing in Tunceli in 2020, were deleted before her disappearance, a new development has occurred in the case. Within the scope of the investigation, a detention, search, and seizure order was issued for Tunceli State Hospital IT staff Burçin Yerlikaya and Yücel Erdem. Following the order, both individuals were taken into custody.
In the Gülistan Doku investigation, two IT staff from Tunceli State Hospital were detained.
IT STAFF DETAINED
A new development occurred in the investigation regarding university student Gülistan Doku, who had been missing since January 5, 2020, in Tunceli. Concerning allegations that Doku's hospital records were deleted, a detention, search, and seizure order was issued for Tunceli State Hospital IT staff Burçin Yerlikaya and Yücel Erdem. Following the order, both individuals were taken into custody.
11 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED
The family of university student Gülistan Doku (21), studying in Tunceli, who had been missing since January 5, 2020, came from their hometown Diyarbakır to Tunceli and filed a missing person report with the police on January 6, 2020. The search efforts initiated yielded no results.
Based on newly obtained information, within the scope of the investigation led by the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of "premeditated murder," "sexual assault," "concealing or destroying evidence of a crime," "destroying or corrupting data by unlawfully accessing an information system," "unlawfully depriving a person of their liberty," "failure to report a crime," and "harboring a criminal," 15 suspects, including the then-Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel, were detained.
Among the suspects, Tuncay Sonel's son Mustafa Türkay Sonel, former police officer Gökhan Ertok who allegedly deleted data from Doku's SIM card, former Tunceli State Hospital Chief Physician Çağdaş Özdemir who allegedly deleted hospital records, former Tunceli Special Provincial Administration employee Erdoğan Elaldı, Celal Altaş, Nurşen Arıkan, Ferhat Hanedan Güven, Doku's boyfriend Zeinal Abakarov, her mother Cemile Yücer, and her stepfather and former police officer Engin Yücer, along with Şükrü Eroğlu who served as Tuncay Sonel's protection police officer at the time, were arrested. Uğurcan A., Munzur University security camera supervisor Savaş G., and Süleyman Ö. were released under judicial control with a ban on leaving the country. Recently, former Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel was also arrested.
