In a new development in the investigation into the accident in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, where an IETT bus crashed into the garden wall of a housing complex, resulting in the deaths of 2 people and injuries to 16 others, one of whom is in serious condition, the driver of the car, identified as R.S.F., who was determined to have maneuvered in front of the bus to change lanes before the crash, has been taken into custody. After completing procedures at the police station, the driver was referred to the courthouse.
In Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district, the driver of a car that maneuvered in front of an IETT bus to change lanes, resulting in the bus crashing into a site's garden wall and killing 2 people and injuring 16, one seriously, has been taken into custody.
2 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE ACCIDENT
The accident occurred in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district. An IETT bus traveling on Kennedy Street towards Bakırköy crashed into a site's garden wall when it reached the Kazlıçeşme area.
In the accident, 2 people lost their lives, and 16 people were injured, one seriously. Following the accident, an investigation was launched, and an examination was conducted regarding the events before the collision.
DRIVER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
As part of the investigation, the position of the IETT bus while moving and the movements of other vehicles around it were examined. As a result of the studies, it was determined that a car driver made a maneuver towards the front of the IETT bus in order to change lanes.
The driver of the said vehicle was identified as R.S.F. Accordingly, proceedings were initiated against the suspect driver. Within the scope of the investigation into the accident, the car driver R.S.F. was taken into custody. The suspect's procedures at the police station were completed. After the procedures, R.S.F. was referred to the courthouse.
