The heart-wrenching accident occurred in the Gebiz neighborhood of the Serik district. According to the information obtained, while Levent Şahin was reversing his service minibus, he failed to notice his 1.5-year-old son Yakup Emir Şahin, who was behind the vehicle, and hit him.
COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
The unfortunate baby, who was severely injured by the impact of the collision, was quickly taken to the Gebiz Emergency Health Center by his relatives upon noticing the situation. Despite all efforts and interventions by the doctors, little Yakup Emir lost his fight for life.
MOTHER AND FATHER COLLAPSED AT THE FUNERAL
After the autopsy and procedures at the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Serik Cemeteries Directorate were completed, Yakup Emir's body was handed over to his family. During the handover, mother Fatma Şahin and father Levent Şahin, overcome with grief, collapsed. Little Yakup Emir's funeral was buried with prayers following the funeral prayer held in the Central Cemetery of Gebiz neighborhood in the morning hours.
