Two people lost their lives as a result of a mid-air collision between two small planes at Marana Regional Airport in Arizona, USA. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
Another plane crash occurred in the United States. A Lancair 360 MK II aircraft collided with a Cessna 172S aircraft in the air at Marana Regional Airport in Arizona. The Marana Police Department stated that there were 2 people on each plane and that 2 people lost their lives in the accident. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reported that the Cessna was able to land after the crash, while the other plane fell into the terrain next to the runway and caught fire. While the airport was temporarily closed, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and NTSB initiated an investigation into the accident.
NO AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER
Marana Regional Airport, described as a "uncontrolled area," does not have an air traffic control tower. Pilots use the Common Traffic Advisory Frequency to inform other aircraft of their positions.
SUCCESSIVE PLANE CRASHES
On January 30, a military helicopter collided with an American Airlines passenger plane at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, resulting in the deaths of 67 people. In the city of Philadelphia, on February 1, 7 people died due to the crash of a medical transport plane, and on February 7 in Alaska, 10 people lost their lives when a small plane crashed. On February 11, at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, a private jet that went off the runway collided with another parked jet, resulting in 1 death and 4 injuries.
