'Ukraine Survived Invasion, Ukraine Will Win War,' Says Foreign Minister

23.02.2024 20:12

'If we act collectively and jointly, this will happen sooner rather than later,' says Dmytro Kuleba.

Kyiv will win the war against Russia, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Friday, as the war is set to enter its third year one day later.

"I want to make one point clear: Two years ago, on this day, people did not believe, experts, diplomats did not believe that Ukraine would survive the large scale invasion by Russia," Kuleba told the reporters at the UN headquarters in New York.

"Today, the same people do not believe that Ukraine can win this war. They turned wrong once and they will turn wrong again. Ukraine survived the invasion, Ukraine will win the war," he said.

"If we act collectively and jointly, this will happen sooner rather than later," he added.

Kuleba attended General Assembly meeting on the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, where he said the scale of the war and its global implications are "enormous," as well as the suffering of Ukrainians.

"No nation in the world wants peace more than Ukraine. Our country suffers the most but we also know that peace must be just endurable. Simply putting the war on hold and hoping that the aggressor will be merciful enough to eventually choose peace is not a realistic plan," he added. -
