Vehicle carrying refugees overturns in Afghanistan: 22 dead, 36 injured

22 people died and 36 others were injured after a truck carrying refugees returning from Pakistan overturned in Laghman province, eastern Afghanistan, including 10 children and 5 women in the accident.

In a traffic accident in Laghman province, eastern Afghanistan, 22 people lost their lives and 36 others were injured when a vehicle carrying refugees returning from Pakistan overturned.

A truck carrying Afghan refugees returning from Pakistan veered off the road and overturned into a ditch near the Surkhakan area on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway at around 05:30 local time today, after the driver fell asleep. 

SOME INJURED IN CRITICAL CONDITION

The accident resulted in 22 fatalities and 36 injuries. It was reported that among the deceased are 10 children and 5 women, while some of the injured transferred to hospitals in neighboring Nangarhar province are in critical condition.
