Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil stated in a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that Russia has given "full support" to Venezuela.

While tensions between the US and Venezuela continue, a striking statement came from the Venezuelan Foreign Minister.

THEY MET WITH LAVROV

In a post on his social media account, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil expressed that they addressed the "aggressive stance" of the US administration targeting Venezuela during his meeting with Lavrov.

Gil stated that they reaffirmed the relationship of brotherhood, mutual respect, and strategic cooperation, saying, "We discussed the clear violations of international law and attacks occurring in the Caribbean. We talked about attacks on ships, extrajudicial killings, and illegal actions characterized as piracy carried out by the US government."

"RUSSIA EXPRESSED ITS FULL SUPPORT FOR VENEZUELA"

Gil noted that in addition to expressing Russia's full support for Venezuela, it also strongly reiterated its solidarity with President Nicolas Maduro.

Gil conveyed that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov emphasized that attacks targeting Venezuela are "unacceptable," stating, "Russia expressed that it will provide all kinds of cooperation and support to Venezuela against the blockade and fully supported the steps taken at the United Nations Security Council."

On the other hand, a statement from Russia indicated that Foreign Minister Lavrov discussed the situation in the Caribbean region with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Gil.

"EXPRESSED CONCERNS DUE TO US ACTIONS"

During the meeting where the situation in the Caribbean was addressed, the two ministers expressed their concerns about the escalating situation in the Caribbean due to US actions that could have "far-reaching consequences and pose a threat to international navigation."

The Russian side stated its support for the Venezuelan government and people during the meeting. Lavrov and Gil agreed on the continuation of contacts and the coordination of steps in international platforms such as the United Nations.
