Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, witnessed an extraordinary funeral ceremony. At the funeral of a couple who ran a nightclub for years in the famous Red Light District, a professional pole dancer performed to Queen's legendary song "The Show Must Go On."

In Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, a funeral ceremony for a nightclub owner who passed away in 1993 and his recently deceased wife, who were laid to rest together, left onlookers astonished.

Family members, inspired by the couple's years of operating an entertainment-themed nightclub in the famous "Red Light" District, brought a professional pole dancer to the farewell ceremony. Performing in the center of the crematorium in front of the mourning family and guests, the dancer put on a show to Queen's legendary song "The Show Must Go On."

COUPLE REUNITED AFTER 31 YEARS

The event took place at De Nieuwe Ooster Crematorium in Amsterdam. The uniqueness of the ceremony was not limited to the dance performance. At the family's special request, the grave of the nightclub owner who died in 1993 and was buried at that time was opened. The remains of the father who passed away years ago were brought to the crematorium to be farewelled on the same day as his wife, who died recently. The couple's ashes were planned to be scattered together in the same location afterward.

"OUR AIM WAS NOT TO SHOCK"

Funeral organizer Iede Hoorn made statements following the footage that went viral on social media. Sharing on his own Instagram account, the experienced organizer stated that the performance was not intended as disrespect or for attention, but rather as a tribute to the family's history.

"WISHES WERE FULFILLED"

Hoorn said, "The pole dancer was there not to shock people, but to offer a loving farewell to two people who ran a legendary nightclub in the Red Light District. It was entirely in line with their wishes." Noting that the family had served in the entertainment industry for generations, the organizer conveyed that the couple always strictly separated business from private life, and thus the idea of the show was first considered and then approved by family members.

THIS EXPERIENCE EVEN SURPRISED ME

Hoorn expressed that he had orchestrated interesting funerals in his career, but this experience surprised even himself. He emphasized that the professional dancer was actually afraid of death but wanted to make an unforgettable gesture for the couple who dedicated their lives to this industry.

FUNERAL GOT 3.6 MILLION VIEWS

The pole dance moments shared on Instagram quickly went viral, garnering over 3.6 million views. The reactions to the video, which received thousands of comments, varied widely.
