Şerif Osman, a 29-year-old living in Izmir, claimed that after receiving an injection at the hospital due to a toothache, he became unable to use his left leg. The father of three, who said he has been unable to work for about a year, has filed a criminal complaint against the hospital and doctor, while it was stated that the legal process is ongoing and a compensation lawsuit will be filed.
29-year-old furniture craftsman Şerif Osman, residing in İzmir's Karabağlar district, applied to the emergency department of a hospital in Gaziemir last October with severe toothache.
According to his claim, after an injection administered in his hip as part of the treatment prescribed by the doctor, Osman experienced severe pain in his left leg, loss of movement, and gradual shortening. Osman, who went to another hospital when his complaints increased, alleged that he was told there that the damage to his leg might have been caused by a faulty injection application.
"MY LIFE WAS RUINED FOR ONE INJECTION"
Şerif Osman, describing the process he went through, said he felt intense burning in his leg during the injection and fell as soon as he stood up.
Osman, stating that the swelling in his leg persisted for a long time and that he was bedridden for months, said, "My life was ruined for one injection. I haven't been able to work for about a year. I have three children, I am in debt, and my family is devastated."
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST HOSPITAL AND DOCTOR
Osman, expressing that he cannot continue his profession due to the pain and limited mobility in his leg, announced that he has filed a criminal complaint against the hospital and the doctor who administered the injection.
Osman stated, "I am fighting for the future of my three children. I am seeking my rights before the law."
HIS LAWYER: WE WILL FILE A COMPENSATION LAWSUIT
Şerif Osman's lawyer, Ebru Bilgen, stated that her client had filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office after the incident and that they are following the legal process.
Bilgen stated that they will file a compensation lawsuit after the legal process is completed, noting that her client is a furniture craftsman who works with physical strength and has become unable to perform his profession due to the health problem he experienced.
