Retired school principal Sırrı Kabadayı, who has 45 years of vocational education experience in Eskişehir, gave important advice to students and parents regarding school types, field selection, and transfer opportunities during the preference process that began after the LGS results.
Following the announcement of LGS results, the preference marathon has begun. Sırrı Kabadayı, a retired school principal and a veteran of vocational and technical education in Eskişehir, emphasized that candidates must meticulously choose their school types and fields, offering several recommendations to parents and students.
Sırrı Kabadayı, who served as a teacher and principal in Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools for about 45 years before retiring, provided various warnings and explanations regarding the process to help students and parents across Eskişehir navigate this critical period correctly and take the right steps for the future, following the announcement of the High School Transition System (LGS) results and the official start of the preference period.
1 MILLION 22 THOUSAND STUDENTS TOOK THE EXAM
Recalling that the LGS results, taken on June 13, 2026, were announced on July 10, Sırrı Kabadayı stated, "In Turkey, 1 million 22 thousand students took this exam, with 9,715 students from Eskişehir participating. During this period, our students will make their preferences between July 13 and July 27. According to the LGS placement exam results, 24 high schools in Eskişehir will accept 2,004 students."
THOROUGH RESEARCH IS MOST IMPORTANT
Pointing out that a critical process lies ahead for candidates during the preference period, Kabadayı said, "The most important thing our students need to do in this process is to conduct very thorough research on school types. For students who will choose a Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, we believe they need to carefully evaluate which department they want most."
DREW ATTENTION TO FIELD SELECTION IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS
Referring to the procedural differences between central and local placement, retired educator Kabadayı said, "Another point our students need to pay attention to is that while direct enrollment can be made to fields in vocational high schools that accept students through central placement; students enrolling in Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools that accept students through local placement, i.e., without an exam, will make their field choices in the first week of school opening. Therefore, we believe it is beneficial for our students to consider this in their preferences and to choose schools that have the fields they wish to study. On the other hand, it is also beneficial to consider schools within the registration area, schools in neighboring registration areas, and schools in other registration areas."
DURING WHICH PERIODS CAN TRANSFER PROCEDURES BE DONE?
Providing guidance on transfer processes for students who will choose programs that accept students without exams, Sırrı Kabadayı concluded by saying:
"In programs that accept students without exams in Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools, after students are placed in the first week, they can apply for transfer to fields until the end of October each week. In November and December, they can also apply for transfer to the schools they want on a monthly basis."
