The warning shown to users stated that account and device activities were being checked for compliance with the terms of service, and that the review process could take approximately one day. Due to the unexpected warning, many users were unable to access the application.
CAUSE FOUND TO BE AN ERROR IN THE SECURITY SYSTEM
Although it was initially thought that accounts were restricted due to a security breach, it turned out that the problem was not user-related. Investigations revealed that the automated security system WhatsApp uses to detect spam messages and malicious activities malfunctioned, incorrectly flagging many innocent users as risky.
