While hot weather continues in many cities across Turkey, snow masses exceeding 3 meters in places are being cleared with heavy machinery at the Tuygun Village Plateau in the Selim district of Kars. With the completion of efforts to open the plateau road to transportation, it is aimed to provide safer access to the plateaus for local residents and livestock breeders.
In Kars, one of the coldest provinces of Turkey, snow fighting efforts continue in the middle of summer. In the Tuygun Village Plateau of the Selim district, snow masses exceeding 3 meters in places are being cleared by the intensive work of the Special Provincial Administration teams using construction machinery.
3-METER SNOW MASSES ARE BEING CLEARED
In the Tuygun Village Plateau, where snow does not melt for a long time due to its high altitude, work has been initiated to ensure safe transportation for villagers with the start of the plateau season.
The plateau road, closed to traffic due to huge snow masses, is being reopened to transportation through the uninterrupted efforts of the Special Provincial Administration teams.
CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY BREAKS THROUGH SNOW WALLS
In the area where graders and loader construction machinery are operating, teams are working intensively to remove snow layers exceeding 3 meters in places and make the road fully usable.
The images created by construction machinery advancing between snow walls evoke winter scenes even in the summer season.
TRANSPORTATION ON PLATEAUS WILL RETURN TO NORMAL
After the completion of the work, expected to continue for a few more days, local people and livestock breeders will be able to access the plateaus more safely and comfortably.
Opening the plateau, where livestock activities are intensively carried out especially in the summer months, to transportation is of great importance for producers.
