Witness Arzu Uçar, who testified at the hearing of the İmamoğlu case, said that her husband worked at Beylikdüzü Municipality for 23 years and that, as a result of a slander leveled against him, he committed suicide during İmamoğlu's term as mayor. Uçar, stating that she was given an apartment as compensation but had not received its title deed since 2019, said, "The occupancy permit was issued, but our title deed is not being given. A person who devoted 23 years had his life ended; mobbing was inflicted. They are still continuing to mock us."

The first session of the third hearing of the 'Ekrem İmamoğlu Profit-Oriented Criminal Organization' case continued. Witness Arzu Uçar, who testified at the hearing, said that her husband had worked at Beylikdüzü Municipality for 23 years and that, as a result of a slander leveled against him, he had committed suicide during Ekrem İmamoğlu's term as mayor. Stating that she was given an apartment as compensation but had not been able to obtain its title deed since 2019, Uçar said, “A relative of mine told Ekrem İmamoğlu about ‘compensation.’ İmamoğlu said, ‘That’s an easy matter.’ In the following period, we were told to look for a house in Westside. I later met with Ekrem İmamoğlu on February 24 at the cultural center. I said, ‘Mr. Mayor, you say a house, but they don’t say that.’ Ekrem İmamoğlu said, ‘Businesspeople came together and it is made to look as if they bought it.’ Then we were told to go and look at an apartment in Westside. After that we moved to that complex. The occupancy permit was issued, but our title deed is not being given. A person who devoted 23 years was put an end to his life; mobbing was applied. We are still being mocked.”

İMAMOĞLU CASE CONTINUES

Witness Aydın Şahin, an employee of Kameroğlu İnşaat, said in his statement in the indictment, “On a day I do not fully remember, Adem Kameroğlu instructed me to withdraw a total of 2 million TL from the company account and to deposit it in parts back into the company account under the description of an apartment payment for Necati Özkan (Ekrem İmamoğlu’s political adviser). I deposited the money in 4 parts in the name of Necati Özkan. I do not know Necati Özkan. I carried out the instruction I received.” Witness Şahin said at the hearing, “Adem Kameroğlu authorized me. I withdrew 2 million TL from the bank. A person came on behalf of Necati Özkan, and I handed the money to him. Necati Özkan then deposited it back into our Kameroğlu İnşaat.”

Witness Ekrem Reşat Tüzün, owner of Atlas Reklam company, said in his statement in the indictment, “In 2019, after the municipal elections, Kültür AŞ invited all companies operating in the outdoor advertising sector to a meeting. At this meeting, they gave us a list, saying ‘If you want to remain in the system, you must pay certain amounts for advertising permits.’ This list included fees for advertising spaces in our portfolio. These fees related entirely to the consideration to be paid for permits to place advertisements on building facades and wall advertising spaces belonging to private individuals. In other words, the amounts they requested were money not set out in legislation or regulations, requested entirely informally.” Witness Tüzün said at the hearing, “Previously we were obtaining advertising-related permits from the Directorate of Urban Design. We obtained them without paying any fee, merely by completing the documents. After 2020 we were directed to Kültür AŞ.”

When the presiding judge asked Tüzün about the word “system” mentioned in his statement in the indictment, he said, “Our permits did not come through without making a certain payment to Kültür AŞ. I paid by EFT against the invoice issued by Kültür AŞ. They were calling all advertising companies, saying we are moving to a new order. They invited us too and stated that the way to obtain a permit was through paying Kültür AŞ. A payment to Kültür AŞ was requested for obtaining permits, and after those payments were made, the permits began to arrive.”

“I DELIVERED 3.5 MILLION DOLLARS INSIDE A LARGE SUITCASE”

Cem Erdinç, whose account in the indictment was that he delivered 3.5 million dollars to Altan Ertürk, who advised former Şişli Mayor Muammer Keskin, in return for the occupancy permit of the project named Rotana Residence, also testified at the hearing. Witness Cem Erdinç, who is the Administrative Affairs Manager at Abdi İbrahim company, said, “The pharmaceutical company also had an additional construction department. Our construction department general manager, İlker Aydın, reported during a meeting that there was a problem concerning Şişli Municipality, that there was an issue with the occupancy permit there, and that the matter had got stuck. Our boss said, ‘Research and see how we can proceed here.’ A meeting was arranged with the then deputy mayor responsible for zoning, whose name I cannot remember exactly. I went to the meeting together with İlker Aydın. After this meeting, İlker Aydın followed up the process. After a certain period of time passed, Mr. İlker told me that I would meet Mr. Altan and that I would deliver something entrusted to Mr. Altan. Later, Mr. Altan sent me a location on the Sarıyer side. They gave me the relevant amount, and I took that amount and delivered it to the place in Sarıyer where Mr. Altan was. That is how the incident developed. I delivered the 3.5 million dollars in cash inside one large suitcase.”
